About Annmarie

Originally from Michigan, she spent her late teens and early 20’s in a modeling career which took her around the world doing print work, catalog and runway in places like Paris, Rome, London,Vienna, Munich & Morocco. In her travels, she became interested in spirituality and had a spontaneous awakening experience which then shifted everything she knew, and drew her to seek a deeper meaning in life.

After leaving modeling, she found yoga at Jivamukti in New York City and began her inward journey. Inspired by the awakening of a daily practice, she traveled to India, Nepal & Thailand for a year on a Soul Pilgrimage. Upon returning to the US Annmarie moved to Los Angeles' Topanga Canyon and completed her Yoga Works Teacher Training in Santa Monica CA where she taught for 6 years. She also taught at Yoga Desa in Topanga Canyon for over 15 years, incorporating mind body spirit practices and sharing wisdom of the heart and inner guidance.

Music has always been a huge part of Annmarie’s life. Her songs have been featured in films, including the title track Summer Moon in the 2009 feature Dark Moon Rising, and her song ‘I Lose Gravity’ in the independent film Take starring Minnie Driver. Her album, Back to the Garden, is a collaboration with Ben Leinbach, the producer and multi-instrumentalist best known for his work with devotional artists Jai Uttal and Deva Premal.  LA Yoga Magazine says “ Annmarie’s voice maintains an intimacy with the listener—as if she’s performing just for you on her porch in the early morning hours.” “This entire album has a lovely simplicity that makes it accessible to people of all ages and musical aptitudes, with enough appeal to reach well outside yoga and devotional circles.”

Her single Phoenix  released in May 2018 is a song about redemption, freedom, letting go, and rising from the ashes. Her music video for Phoenix has begun to go viral on Facebook having struck a cord within the global community during these times of great change and transformation. Annmarie also released a second single Shine which is a call to shine your light and bring your gifts to the world. Currently, Annmarie is working on her new album. Stay tuned!
